The follow up treatment appointments will be booked by your physiotherapist during your appointment

After entering the clinic, the physiotherapist will greet you in waiting area to introduce himself and take you to the treatment room. Your first appointment would last for 45 minutes (Asking question about your problems and health + physical examination). Following assessment, the physiotherapist will discuss about the diagnosis, treatment options, likely outcomes, recovery time frame for a problem, rehab protocols. You are always welcome to ask any question you may have so that you can make informed choices about your treatment. With shared decision making you and your physiotherapist will work towards the specific goals with PhysioRx REHAB to REVIVE your health and wellbeing. You may decline any treatments you do not wish to consent to and have the right to do so at any time.

Physiotherapy is mostly active treatment not passive treatment. You will be given strengthening and mobilizing exercises to help to achieve our goals. Your physiotherapist will reassess in the follow up treatment session and the exercises intensity will be progressed according to your improvement.

It depends on individual and the nature of problems. Many problems can be treated within 3-4 treatment sessions. some problems may have chronic nature or long-standing history which will need more sessions. Usually, any positive outcome with physiotherapy treatment requires 8-10 treatment session. If for some reason, if you have not made improvement, we will refer you onwards to your GP. To prevent reoccurring problems, we advise maintenance therapy which will be once every 6-8 weeks’ time depending on the nature of the problems.

Your physiotherapist with prior consent may ask you to remove your trousers, if necessary, clinically to assess lower back, hips so ideally wearing a shorts would be advisable. If you are unsure or have any other queries which we may have missed to explain here please contact us anytime by phone or email and we will do the best of our ability to fit your needs.
